Two-time Oscar-nominated actor Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, The Departed) finished filming Good Joe Bell in Salt Lake City, Nevada. He grew a beard for his part as Joe Bell, the father of Jadin, a 15-year-old openly gay high school sophomore who took his own life after being bullied.
Now with a clean shave and shorter hair, Wahlberg is back in Los Angeles spending time with his family at his mansion which includes a professional size basketball court embellished with the Boston Celtics logo in the center. The day after Memorial Day, Wahlberg took a selfie video on his home court. He explains that his 8-year-old daughter Gracie said she wanted to play basketball so he got NBA star Jimmy Butler to come to the house and coach her.
While Gracie is barefoot, Butler is holding a wine glass which appears to have red wine in it. When Wahlberg asks his daughter who her new coach is, she says, “Jimmy!” and Butler turns to the camera and gives a thumb’s up. “Best coach ever,” he says with a smile. “WNBA here we come,” says Wahlberg. P.S. Wahlburgers airs Wednesdays at 8 pm on A&E.
Proud papa Wahlberg recently shared a video of his son playing hoops on the family court, too…
