In the Grey’s Anatomy episode “Good Shepherd,” Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Link (Chris Carmack) travel to New York to operate on a patient with a severe spinal deformity. When not in the operating room, the two neurosurgeons visit Amelia’s family. They are invited to dinner by Amelia’s sisters Nancy Shepherd and Dr. Kathleen Shepherd (Amy Acker, The Gifted). The candlelit dinner conversation gets heated when the sisters serve dessert.
Last time Nancy Shepherd appeared on Grey’s Anatomy was in the 2006 episode “Let the Angels Commit.” She was introduced then as Dr. Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) irritating sister. See link above.
Nancy Shepherd is portrayed by actress Embeth Davidtz. She’s known for her roles on Ray Donovan (Sonia Kovitzky), Mad Men (Rebecca Pryce), and Californication (Felicia Koons), among others. Davidtz is also recognized for her role in films including The Amazing Spider-Man (Mary Parker), Bridget Jones’s Diary (Natasha), Matilda (Miss Honey), and Steven Spielberg’s Oscar winning Schindler’s List (Helen Hirsch), again among others. Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8 pm on ABC, right before Station 19.
