A big part of Ryan Seacrest‘s job — besides being genial — is being creative. And Seacrest really put his creativity to use in the middle of the night to link the mystery and anticipation surrounding Taylor Swift’s upcoming album –being called TS7 — with the cultural event of the moment and beyond: Avengers: Endgame.
(If you are somehow Marvel Comics Universe-phobic, then you may not know that the culmination of much superheroing is going down this weekend in a big way as Avengers: Endgame opens in more theaters across North American than any movie has ever opened in — 4600 theaters, that is.)
Seacrest specializes is cross-hatched pop culture pollination, so he came up with a theory linking Swift (who fans already consider a superhero) with Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of the Marvel stars. Stretching it? Maybe, but here goes the theory:
Seacrest says Swift’s next album, her seventh, links to Avengers: Endgame because “Thanos has total control of the universe with his six infinity stones and his one infinity gauntlet.” That’s the same as how “Taylor Swift controls our universe with her seven albums.” Swift, Seacrest grandly and smilingly posits, is “releasing a concept album all about The Avengers.”
