On The Simpsons episode “D’oh Canada,” while visiting Niagara Falls on a family vacation, Lisa is mistakenly granted political asylum in Canada. When Marge goes to rescue Lisa, they are forced to re-evaluate their love for America as they navigate the polite Canadian landscape. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (who declined to participate in the animated episode) is voiced by Lucas Meyer, a Toronto journalist (who also happens to be a first class voice impersonator).

Meyer put a 4-minute impressions video on YouTube in 2017 — mostly for family and friends and colleagues. In 2018, he received an invite from a producer of The Simpsons who saw the video and asked Meyer to audition for the Trudeau role. Meyer, who has interviewed the Prime Minister in the past, says he recorded his lines in a Toronto studio in about 20 or 30 minutes.
In the video (below), Meyer also does a number of Canadian celebrities including hockey commentator Don Cherry, Canadian-born singer Drake (ordering a sandwich at Subway), and he does a funny bit as U.S President Donald Trump who suggests that Calgary needs a Trump hotel and “the best part about it is that Edmonton is gonna pay for it.” The Simpsons airs Sundays at 8 pm on FOX.
The first one was so good, Meyer made a second one…
