On the 15th episode of American Idol, Season 2 on ABC (Sunday, April 28), the American Idol Top 8 finalists pay tribute to the iconic rock and roll band Queen. Each contestant will perform a Queen song. But before they hit the stage, they get to rehearse with American Idol alum Adam Lambert (2009, Season 8 runner-up), who’s currently touring with Queen as the new regular frontman. (Queen’s original lead singer Freddie Mercury died at the age of 45 in 1991, when Lambert was 9.)

If you want to see more Queen + Adam Lambert and can’t get tickets to The Rhapsody Tour, you’re in luck. TV can help. Just months after Lambert made history with Queen as the first rock band to open the Oscars ceremony in February, ABC will air the two-hour TV documentary The Show Must Go On: The Queen + Adam Lambert Story, on Monday, April 29 at 8 pm.

In the video below, Queen drummer Roger Taylor, 69, says the trio are having fun together on tour. Lambert, 37, says, “My friends ask me, so do you guys party?” Lambert laughs and says, “Yeah, we do. Some of those jet rides get pretty rowdy.”
Lambert says he pulled out a bottle of tequila to do shots, although guitarist Brian May, 71, was hesitant. May sounds like he’s in a different place, explaining, “You sleep enough, you eat healthy and you keep a grip on yourself. Then there’s nothing to stop you from having fun.” Taylor adds, “And you have two shots of Scotch before you go on.” American Idol airs Sundays at 8 pm on ABC, right before Shark Tank.
