Snowcoming: Samantha’s Dad Football Coach Real Ex-NFL Player
In the Hallmark movie Snowcoming, Samantha Kerrigan (Lindy Booth) returns home for her town’s winter festival to celebrate her father’s retirement from coaching football. While in town, she reunites with her gorgeous high school sweetheart Jake (Trevor Donovan, Sun Records) who’s now a quarterback in the NFL.

Coach Kerrigan is portrayed by Ed Marinaro. Before acting, Marinaro played college football at the ivy league school Cornell, and was a 1971 Heisman Trophy finalist. The 6’2″ running back was a three-time All-American and played in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and the Seattle Seahawks.
As an actor, Marinaro is known for his roles on Blue Mountain State (Coach Marty Daniels), Champs (Vince Mazzilli), Sisters (Mitch Margolis), Falcon Crest (John Remick), Hill Street Blues (Officer Joe Coffey), and Laverne & Shirley (Sonny St. Jacques), among others. Marinaro is also well recognized for his role in the 1992 TV movie Amy Fisher: My Story as Joey Buttafuoco. Snowcoming premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday, January 26 at 8 pm.
