In the Speechless episode “H-HEY, YOU”, Maya (Minnie Driver) and Melanie (Sarah Clake) practice their business marketing pitch in front of Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough), who Maya thinks is not very helpful. Later, Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) practices a number with his band and his daughter Dylan (Kyla Kenedy) is impressed. The bearded guitarist, Carl, is portrayed by Kyle Gass. He is part of the two-piece musical act, Tenacious D, with rock star movie actor Jack Black.
As an actor, Gass is also known for his roles in the films Elf (Eugene), Wild Hogs (Kyle), Shallow Hal (Artie), Cradle Will Rock (Larry), The Cable Guy (Couch Potato, SEE LINK ABOVE), and the spooky thriller starring Tim Robbins Jacob’s Ladder (Tony), among others. Speechless airs Fridays at 8:30 pm on ABC, right after Fresh off the Boat and right before 20/20.
