On The Profit, investor Marcus Lemonis heads to New York City to meet crafty entrepreneur Ben Busko. Ben is the owner of Ben’s Garden, a chain of four retail shops in New York that sell handcrafted artisan-made home goods — everything from paperweights to platters.
[Ben’s Garden goods are on sale at Amazon too]
The four Ben’s Garden stores are in SoHo, Brooklyn, and two on Long Island (Oyster Bay and Huntington). But you don’t have to fly out to New York to buy one of his coaster sets, cocktail napkins, glass quote trays or paperweights: Ben’s Garden has an impressive home at online retail giant Amazon (see link above).
While Lemonis chides Ben for hoarding too much inventory, Ben is very generous with his crafty skills. Watch Ben teach crafting maven Martha Stewart how to découpage antique maps onto a glass trays. When Stewart asks him how many of the glass trays he breaks, he says, “none,” which gets a nice chuckle from the live audience. The Profit airs Tuesdays at 10 pm on CNBC.
