In the 200th episode of Hawaii Five-0, “Pua a’e la ka uwahi o ka moe” (translated “The Smoke Seen in the Dream Now Rises”), McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) investigates a cold case from the 1940s. It was a case that stumped his late World War II hero grandfather and his best friend, retired Honolulu P.D. Detective Milton Cooper (guest star Richard Herd). When Milton gives McGarrett his attache of clues, McGarrett dives into the past and meets a tough guy named William Pettifer.
