In the Mom episode “Pork Loin and a Beat-up Monte Carlo,” while Bonnie (Allison Janney) takes care of Tammy (Kristen Johnston) after oral surgery, Christy (Anna Faris) competes with her classmates including “know it all Lisa” (Amanda Perez) for a prestigious internship with Professor Gannon. The competition requires Christy to present in a mock trial which she’s nervous about.
Professor Gannon on Mom is portrayed by actress Alimi Ballard. He’s known for his roles on Oprah Winfrey and Ava DuVernay’s Queen Sugar (Dr. Robert Dubois), The Catch (Reginald Lennox III), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (Detective Kevin Crawford), Hollywood Heights (Det. Ferrantino), Numb3rs (David Sinclair), American Dreams (Jamal), Dark Angel (Herbal Thought), Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (Quizmaster Albert), and Arsenio (Matthew), among others. Mom airs Thursdays at 9 pm on CBS, right before Murphy Brown.
