In The Good Doctor episode “Empathy,” while autistic Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore) struggles to show empathy toward a patient who is relentlessly teased for his disfigurement, Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez), Dr. Morgan Reznick (Fiona Gubelmann) and Dr. Claire Brown (Antonia Thomas) grapple with a patient’s wish to perform an operation that would keep him from acting on his pedophilic urges. The patient, George Reynolds, tells them, “I’m afraid of what I could do.”
