In The Conners episode “Tangled Up in the Blue,” David (Johnny Galecki) decides to introduce his hippie new girlfriend Blue (Juliette Lewis) to Darlene (Sara Gilbert) at their son Mark’s parent/teacher conference. (“Tangled Up in Blue” is also a reference to one of Bob Dylan’s most famous story songs.) Clearly, David is moving on with his life. So when approached by a cute guy at the bar, Darlene accepts his offer of a free drink and what comes with it. The guy at the bar, Neil, is portrayed by Justin Long.
Justin Long is known for his roles on the TV series Ed (Warren), in the Apple Mac commercials, and in the films He’s Just Not That Into You (heartbreaker Alex),Bruce Willis’ Live Free or Die Hard (Matt, see streaming link above), Accepted (Bartleby), Herbie Fully Loaded (Lindsay Lohan’s boyfriend Kevin), and Dodgeball (Justin), among others. Fun fact: Long provided the voice of Alvin in the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.The Conners airs Tuesdays at 8 pm on ABC.
