On Season 3 of The $100,000 Pyramid, game show host and Good Morning America co-anchor Michael Strahan welcomes two musically inclined celebrities on the show. Rapper Snoop Dogg plays against Questlove, drummer of The Roots and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. For the high-stakes game, Snoop Dogg wears an old school maroon tracksuit with The $25,000 Pyramid logo on the front. Back in the day, when Dick Clark was host of the game show, the prize was just $25k! For The $100,000 Pyramid, Questlove wears his signature hair pick in his afro, dark jeans and a black hoodie with three different pins. One is of a giant pancake with syrup and a pat of butter.
[Questlove’s new book Creative Quest is a NY Times Bestseller]
Questlove has a distinct childhood memory about pancakes. In the April 2018 issue of GQ, Questlove (who’s promoting his fourth book Creative Quest) talks about surrounding yourself with distractions that are germane to one’s creative process. Questlove’s #1 distraction is old reruns of Soul Train. It connects him to his childhood. He says the episode with Patti LaBelle reminds him of getting snowed in with his cousins and making pancake with bananas in them. Some people think Questlove smells like maple syrup (see below). And when IHOP (International House of Pancakes) changed its name to IHOb, Questlove chimed in (below). Note: Questlove often wears heart-shaped Lego pins (like the one above) designed by Dee & Ricky in Brooklyn. The $100,000 Pyramid airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
