The Top 10 on Season 14 of The Voice are facing the “Challenge Week” this Monday, May 6. Coaches Alicia Keys and Blake Shelton have the advantage of having 3 artists left in the competition. One of the three on Team Alicia is Britton Buchanan, the 18-year-old from North Carolina. During the “Challenge Week,” each artist chooses a song that reflects a personal challenge that they have overcome. Britton is singing Tina Turner’s 1984 hit “What’s Love Gotta To Do With It”. (The song was offered to Donna Summer, “she sat with it for a few years” before it was handed to Turner.) The title of the song was used for the title of the 1993 film depicting Turner’s career and abusive relationship with Ike Turner.

The lyrics of “What’s Love Got To Do With It” include: “It may seem to you that I’m acting confused/ When you’re close to me/ If I tend to look dazed I’ve read it someplace/ I’ve got cause to be.” The narrator doesn’t really love the person. Some call it an anti-love song. Keep in mind, Britton has been dating Livia Faith, who also competed on this season of The Voice. He can’t be singing to Livia — not an anti-love song! See cute photo below. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
