Halsey, the 23-year-old bi-racial, bisexual singer from Edison, NJ. was born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane. (Halsey is an anagram of Ashley.) At the age of 17, Halsey was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after a suicide attempt. In 2016, Halsey told Rolling Stone the biggest battle she’s had to overcome in her career wasn’t being bisexual, biracial or bipolar — “It was everybody thinking that I was exploiting those things.” The Voice Live Finale airs Monday & Tuesday, May 21 & 22 at 8pm on NBC.
