Jurnee is the 18-year-old restaurant hostess from Littleton, Colorado who’s competing on American Idol. For her Top 14 performance, Jurnee stepped into a pair of bright pink thigh-high boots and a pair of short shorts and performed the song “Bang Bang” by Jessie J, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. All three judges — Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan — gave Jurnee a standing ovation. Bryan said he was happy that Jurnee showed another side of herself. Perry was impressed with Jurnee’s moves. “I think you’re an artist now, not just like some wedding singer,” said Perry.
Jurnee is only 18 but she’s already in a serious relationship. She met her soulmate Ashley Weathers in 2016. Just three months after graduating from high school (see family photo below), Ashley proposed to Jurnee, and she said yes! Video below. American Idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm on ABC.
