In the Superior Donuts episode “The Chicago Way,” while Arthur (Judd Hirsch) deals with a new health inspector, Chicago police officer Randy (Katey Sagal) celebrates the fact that she just passed the detective’s exam. But soon after she’s put in an awkward position when her former supervisor Ted asks her to talk to a female rookie who’s filed a sexual harassment complaint against him.
Ted is portrayed by Christopher McDonald. McDonald is known for his roles on Ballers (Dallas Cowboys Owner), The Good Wife (Judge Schakowsky), Boardwalk Empire (US Attorney General Daugherty), Harry’s Law (Tommy Jefferson), and Family Law (Rex Weller), among many others. McDonald is also recognized for his roles in the films Happy Gilmore (Shooter McGavin, see photo below), Quiz Show (host Jack Barry), and Thelma & Louise (Darryl), to name a few. Superior Donuts airs Mondays at 9pm on CBS, right after Man with a Plan, and right before Living Biblically.
