Kane & Couture is a company that sells fashionable and affordable dog apparel and dog accessories including varsity sweaters, tutus, and collars. The owner of Kane & Couture, young entrepreneur Amber Lee Forrester, pitched her business on Shark Tank in September 2013. On the show, she made a deal with Daymond John and Lori Greiner with a contingency that Forrester could meet her optimistic projections in coming months ($400k). Based on that, John and Greiner agreed to invest $75k each for 40 percent equity. Forrester reports on the Kane & Couture website: “Things didn’t quite work out as planned.” But the determined entrepreneur continues to build and grow Kane & Couture even after a number of bumps in the road.
