On the season premiere of Showtime at the Apollo, TV personality Steve Harvey and his co-host Adrienne Houghton will welcome five talented acts on stage. Of the five, two have been on televised talent shows before. R&B singer George Lovett made it to the Top 10 of American Idol, Season 13. And hilarious and dangerous juggler Nick Pike made it to the quarterfinals of America’s Got Talent, Season 5. (Singer Michael Grimm won that year in 2010.) AGT judge Howie Mandel told Nick Pike after one amazing juggling performance: “You have great stage presence, you’re funny, you’re fun to watch, you have great composure. You are truly an entertainer!”
At the Apollo, Nick Pike will juggle butcher knives – blindfolded! — and walk on a path of broken glass — barefoot! (See photo above.) The Englishman studied Circus Arts in London and now lives in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with his wife and kids. He performs his one-man shows on college campuses and cruise ships and even for the US Navy in Asia and Europe. Showtime at the Apollo airs Thursdays at 9pm on FOX, right after Gotham.
