Avocaderia is an avocado bar in Brooklyn, New York that serves healthy and tasty fast food — avocado toast, salads and bowls, and smoothies — and all under $11. One of its taglines is: “At Avocaderia ? is not extra, it’s everything.” One of the co-founders of Avocaderia, Alessandro Biggi, is pitching the health food business on Shark Tank on February 11. Biggi is seeking a $300,000 investment in exchange for 10 percent of Avocaderia.
With his sweet Italian accent, the young entrepreneur Biggi delivers a fun lighthearted presentation that has all five Sharks — Robert Herjavec, Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, and guest Shark Rohan Oza — smiling and laughing. Biggi explains that growing up in Italy, healthy food was always available but when he moved to the U.S. he found most healthy alternative meals were bland in taste. Avocaderia, he says, delivers healthy and tasty meals. Note: Avocaderia, which is open every day for breakfast and lunch, uses only Avocados from Mexico. The second Avocaderia will be opening in Chelsea this Spring. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 10pm on ABC.
