In the Chicago P.D. episode “Captive,” Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is still missing. He was at the house of a convicted felon when he was kidnapped. Now the team is desperate to find Atwater because they know once his kidnappers realize Atwood is a cop, “he’s a dead man,” says Voight (Jason Beghe). While kept in an abandoned church, Atwood is chained up with his old friend Joe. Joe claims Atwood killed his son and he wants Atwood to fess up.
Joe is portrayed by Mekhi Phifer. Phifer is known for his roles on Frequency (Satch Reyna), Secret City (Ambassador Moreton), House of Lies (Dre Collins), Torchwood (Agent Rex Matheson), Lie to Me (Ben Reynolds), ER (Dr. Gregory Pratt)*, and Curb Your Enthusiasm (Omar Jones), among others. Phifer is also recognized for his roles in the films Dawn of the Dead (Andre), 8 Mile (Future, see link above), and Honey (Chaz). Chicago P.D. airs Wednesdays at 10pm on NBC, right after Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
