In the Great News episode “Catfight,” Carol (Andrea Martin) decides her adult daughter Katie (Briga Heelan) needs help with her relationship with Greg (Adam Campbell). They flirt like crazy but it never goes anywhere. So Carol does what no other mother in her right mind would do, she invites Greg’s girlfriend Cat to work. That’s right, she’s hoping the appearance of Cat will get Katie to admit her true feelings for Greg. Of course, Carol’s plan backfires. Cat is totally awesome and charming.
Greg’s girlfriend Cat is portrayed by Jayma Mays. Mays is known for her roles on Trial & Error (attorney Carol Anne Keane), Drunk History (Abigail Adams), Getting On (Suzi Sasso), Glee (Emma Pillsbury, see link above), The Millers (Debbie), Heroes (Charlie Andrews), and Ugly Betty (Charlie), among others. Mays is also recognized for her roles in the films Paul Blart: Mall Cop (Amy) and The Smurfs (Grace Winslow). Fun fact: In real life, Mays is married to Adam Campbell who plays Greg! Great News airs Thursdays at 9:30pm on NBC, right after Will & Grace.
