In The Amazing Race episode “Gotta Put Your Sole Into It” the teams face off against one another in the second head-to-head competition of Season 30. This time they’re in France — in St. Tropez and Provence. In the Road Block, one member from each time has to sail a small dingy called The Optimist to reach two buoys which each hold half of the next clue. They’re given quick lessons: one hand stays on the sail, the other on the oar to help direct the sailboat. When TeamExtreme’s Kristi Leskinen reaches the buoys, she yells to her partner Jen Hudak, “Hopefully getting into shore is easier.” Jen is impressed. She yells, “Nice freaking job, Kristi,” and calls her a rock star. “You just slayed that,” says Jen.
Not as much praise is given to TeamYale. The dating Yale debate team teammates decide Evan Lynack should man the boat. It doesn’t go as well as TeamExtreme’s voyage. When Evan lets go of the sail, it hits her in the mouth. Her partner Henry Zhang asks if she broke a tooth. Now that’s what we call fighting tooth and nail for the $1 million prize. The Amazing Race airs Wednesdays at 8pm on CBS.
