Former adult film star Stormy Daniels (aka Stephanie Clifford) has met Donald Trump but was not given hush money to stay mum about an alleged sexual encounter with the president. That’s the story Daniels is telling through a statement released by lawyer Michael Cohen, which CNN quotes today. The Wall Street Journal is reporting on the Daniels-Trump relationship, both financial and personal. If there was hush money dictating what Daniels might say, it obviously didn’t preclude her from using the media attention to promote her business interests — she references “my book” — so she and Trump have at least that in common. Book agents are sure to have had their interest perked up. Daniels’ statement reads in part:
“When I met Donald Trump, he was gracious, professional and a complete gentleman to me and EVERYONE in my presence. Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false. If indeed I did have a relationship with Donald Trump, trust me, you wouldn’t be reading about in the news, you would be reading about it in my book. But the fact of the matter is, these stories are not true.” [emphasis ours]
Stormy Daniels $150 Calendar from 2006
Wait, reading about it in her book? Which book? The Patch reports that Daniels planned a “Trump Tell-All” in 2016, but no such tome materialized. There are a few videos and a $150 calendar featuring Stormy Daniels at Amazon (see link above). But there is still no Stormy Daniel’s Trump Tell-All available at what’s still “earth’s biggest bookstore.” Writer’s block?
