EarthLog is a fire log made of clean waste paper and scrap candle wax. They’re not just good for the environment but they smell good too. The inventor of EarthLog, Tom Sanetti of Huntington Beach, California, pitched his business on Shark Tank in November 2014. On the show, he made a deal with Lori Greiner — $160,000 in exchange for 35 percent equity.

After Shark Tank, Sanetti made a video to give customers and curious people an update on the business. While EarthLog has grown and has made several deals with big retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Home Goods, the Shark Tank deal didn’t happen. In the video below, Sanetti says he wanted to keep making EarthLog in the U.S., not in China. (His company that makes EarthLog is called American Green Products.) Sanetti says: “The idea of making these in China…is against the principles of why I started this business.” New episodes of Shark Tank (Season 9) air Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
