CBS News correspondent Tracy Smith investigates the March 2015 murder of Edmad Tawfilis at Dahl Vineyards in Napa Valley, California. The Silicon Valley investor was shot dead at the vineyard by the owner, 47-year-old Robert Dahl. When chased by police, Dahl subsequently took his own life. At the time of the murder-suicide, the two men were trying to reach a settlement of a lawsuit Tawfilis had filed in 2014 regarding a $1.2 million loan/investment in Dahl’s business.

In October 2016, the Napa County Planning Commission granted approval for McVicar Vineyards to take over the existing 1,131-square foot building that Dahl leased from the McVicar family for $15,000 a month. (The McVicars have owned the property since 1988.) A representative of the McVicar family said there were 40 barrels of Dahl Vineyards wine left on the property after the shootings. 48 Hours airs Saturdays at 10pm on CBS.
