In the Speechless episode “B-R-I– BRITISH I-N-V—INVASION,” it’s Thanksgiving at the DiMeo’s house. While Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough) dreads spending the holiday with his father the Colonel (guest Keith David), Maya (Minnie Driver) is thrown for a loop when her pretentious mother Andrea, whom she hasn’t seen in years, arrives from England in a suit and pearls.
Maya’s mother Andrea is portrayed by Holland Taylor. The Broadway star is known for her TV roles on Two and a Half Men (Charlie and Alan’s mother Evelyn), The L Word (Peggy Peabody), The Practice (Judge Kittleson), Bosom Buddies (Ruth Dunbar), and in the 2001 film Legally Blonde (Professor Stromwell), among many others. Speechless airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm on ABC, right after The Goldbergs, and right before Modern Family.
