In the Season 9 premiere of NCIS: Los Angeles, while Sam (LL Cool J) mourns his wife and encourages Callen (Chris O’Donnell) to find a new partner, the team gets a new boss. In Hetty’s (Linda Hunt) absence (she retired and then disappeared), Executive Assistant Director Shay Mosley arrives to oversee the team.

Mosley is portrayed by Nia Long.Long is known for her roles on Empire (Giuliana), Dear White People (Neika), Hand of God (Izzy), Uncle Buck (Alexis), House of Lies (Tamara), Third Watch (Sasha), and Judging Amy (Andrea Solomon), among others. Long is also well recognized for her roles in the films Big Momma’s House (Sherry) and Boyz n the Hood (Brandi). NCIS: Los Angeles airs Sundays at 9:30pm on CBS.
