America’s Got Talent set new records last year in its 12th season with 16 million viewers tuning in to each broadcast on average. But that number doesn’t tell the whole story. Try this giant figure instead — the unique AGT acts thrive online and NBC reports the AGT franchise got more than 2.6 billion views across social media. That’s remarkable penetration for a show that had a dogs-jumping-through-hoops act make the Finals. Not to mention the fact that a dummy won — well a number of dummies, otherwise known as puppets, masterfully manipulated by the adorable AGT Season 12 winner, 12-year-old ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer!
If you can’t make it to Orlando, Cincinnati, Savannah, Milwaukee, Houston, Las Vegas, New York, Nashville, San Jose or Los Angeles, you can always audition by submitting your audition tape online. Go here to get the guidelines and submission rules for AGT video submissions. If you’re under 18, as a number of recent winners have been, you’ll need parental permission. If you want to be on stage instead of watching on TV, register to perform at one of the ten live audition sites listed below. Tip: you can’t just show up — register for the live auditions and get info about getting your talent seen at www.AGTAuditions.com. NBC and AGT say “acts of any age and any talent are encouraged.” AGT live audition cities list and dates below.
