Washington Post reporters Robert Costa, Philip Rucker and Ashley Parker say that “President Trump is now lashing out, rupturing alliances and imperiling his legislative agenda.” They paint an ugly picture of a White House run by a man ruled by an increasingly volatile temperament, a president whose frustration is at a boiling point. Talking about the “embarrassing defeat” of Luther Strange despite Trump’s support and “Sen. Bob Corker’s brutal assessment of Trump’s fitness for office,” the three reporters cite unnamed White House insiders who variously claim that Trump is in “pressure cooker territory.” Another unnamed source reportedly said “his presidency could be doomed.”
Interestingly, The Drudge Report, which tends to feature news that helps traditional conservative causes, not only featured the WaPo article prominently on its front page, but also tweeted about the article in ALL CAPS to its 1.3 million followers on Twitter.
