The Dateline episode “At the Bottom of the Pool” investigates the 2014 death of Madagascar-born, Parisian model Samira Frasch. Frasch’s body was found at the bottom of her swimming pool (in her backyard) by a maintenance man. She lived in an exclusive gated community called Golden Eagle in Tallahassee, Florida, with her two daughters. She had filed for divorce from her husband, wealthy podiatrist Adam Frasch, and had been granted sole custody of the girls.
The morning of her death, Adam Frasch took his daughters from the house and went to Panama City. He told authorities Samira asked him to take the children to give her time alone. Prosecutors claim Frasch hit his wife in the face with a golf club and then threw Samira in the pool. In January 2017, Adam Frasch was found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison. He is appealing the verdict, and recently gave an interview with Crime Watch, which highlighted Frasch’s extravagant lifestyle including having 81 cars registered to him. When his lifestyle was described as “very lavish,” Frasch shrugged and said, “It depends on who you compare it to. If you compare it to Donald Trump, no.
