On the Season 35 premiere episode of Survivor, “I’m Not Crazy, I’m Confident,” viewers meet the 18 castaways who are divided into three tribes of six when they arrive in Fiji. They are categorized based on how they are perceived by others “positive traits that are associated with them” Survivor host Jeff Probst explains: Heroes, Healers, and Hustlers.
The Heroes include: Olympic swimmer Katrina Radke; NFL player Alan Ball; financial analyst Chrissy Hofbeck; lifeguard Ashley Nolan, firefighter JP Hilsabeck, and Marine Ben Driebergen. Ben is a big man with a full beard and lots of tattoos. He says he’s a big teddy bear and that his wife and mom are excited about his being on the show — but he also says that they’re nervous about the “grizzly bear” in Ben coming out. Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8pm on CBS.
