Monkey Mat is a clean, portable 5’x5’ mat designed for children to play on. It’s an alternative to bulky blankets and plastic sheets that flap in the wind. (The four corners of Money Mats have built-in weights.) The two entrepreneurs behind Money Mat, Courtney Turich and Christie Barany pitched their business on Shark Tank in 2014. They went into the Tank seeking $100,000 in exchange for 30 percent equity. Instead, they left with $100,000 for 35 percent split between Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban.

Since Shark Tank, as promised, Greiner has helped lower the price of manufacturing Monkey Mat so it now retails for $19.99, and yes it sold like hot cakes on QVC. Monkey Mat is now available in more colors and designs (per Barbara Corcoran’s suggestion) and in a variety of sizes: mega ($25), mini ($10), original ($20), and materials including plush ($35) and quilted cotton ($30).
