Kelly Clarkson, who launched her singing career by winning Season 1 of American Idol, is performing on that other talent show, America’s Got Talent for its Season 12 Live Finale. Clarkson, the 3-time Grammy winner, will sing one of her new singles — either “Love So Soft” or “Move You” — from her forthcoming album (her eighth!), Meaning of Life. The 35-year-old mother of two Clarkson says, “This is the album I’ve always wanted to make!!”

Meaning of Life will include the ballad “I Don’t Think About You” which reportedly is about Clarkson’s split with the RCA label, and the track “Go High” which was inspired by Michelle Obama’s quote “When they go low, we go high” at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. The America’s Got Talent Live Finale airs Wednesday, September 20 at 8pm on NBC. Other performers include Shania Twain and The X Factor winner James Arthur.
