Felt is an app that prints and mails handwritten cards in our digital-heavy world. The creator of Felt, Tomer Alpert of Telluride, Colorado, pitched his business on Shark Tank in May 2016. He went into the Tank seeking $200,000 in exchange for 6 percent equity. When Kevin O’Leary offered Tomer $225,000 for 10 percent, Mark Cuban (who also had an offer on the table with Barbara Corcoran) told Tomer he would be “insane” not to take Mr. Wonderful’s deal, and so he did.

Since Shark Tank, Felt has rolled out a Framed Photos collection of solid wood frames for Felt cards. And for Mother’s Day, Felt also delivered flowers with customers’ Felt cards. And on top of that, Felt’s website won a Webby Award for Best User Interface. “It’s like an Oscar for internet companies,” says Felt.
