James Comey is the big story in Washington — again. For a man who used to run an intelligence agency (FBI) whose employees traditionally keep a very low profile, Comey has a very high profile. (And not just because he’s 6’8″ tall.) Reviled by Hillary Clinton supporters who believe Comey’s late “revelation” about her emails (again) eleven days before the election hobbled her candidacy, Comey soon proved to be an equal opportunity offender getting fired by President Donald Trump because of what Trump called the “Russia thing.” (Comey’s FBI was investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives to interfere with the American election.)

Born in 1960 in Yonkers, New York, Comey attended the prestigious William & Mary College (he majored in chemistry and religion, presumably allowing for a belief in God and science at the same time) before getting his law degree from the famed University of Chicago — birthplace of the neocons. He has held various roles in the public and private sector, most notably as Deputy Attorney General during the George W. Bush administration before cashing in as the SVP/General Counsel for huge government contractor Lockheed Martin (2005-2010). When Comey was confirmed by the Senate as FBI Director, it was by a margin of 93-1. (Sen. Rand Paul dissented.)
