On Say Yes to the Dress: UK, Welsh fashion designer David Emanuel helps brides find the right dress for their big day. David is best known for designing — with his former wife Elizabeth — the wedding dress worn by Diana, Princess of Wales in 1981. He said of the project: “It was intimate and fun. Diana was always full of fun, and what made it so special was that it was just the three of us. We were not bogged down by any Royal protocol or red tape.”
After graduating from the Royal College of Art in London with his former wife Elizabeth Weiner Emanuel (they met earlier at Harrow School of Art), David worked with royal designer Hardy Amies at Savile Row before launching his own fashion house at the age of 25. David was most recently designing women’s clothes for Le Bon Marche shops. Say Yes to the Dress airs Saturdays at 8pm on TLC.
