In the Hustle & Soul episode ‘The Mother of All Breakdowns’, The Pink Teacup owner/chef Lawrence Page gives general manager Ana control of the front of the house on Mother’s Day, the restaurant’s biggest day of the year. Ana sees it as an opportunity to deal with her “Candice problem.” Lawrence is already taking risks by introducing new dishes on Mother’s Day – and Ana hiring a new bartender just to piss off Candice is beyond a risk.
Before the doors open, Lawrence orders his staff to sell the new dishes and warns them about returning dishes into the kitchen. So when one of the twin waiters does return a dish to the kitchen, Lawrence loses it. “What are you bringing it back for?!” Lawrence yells. “It takes time to create! Get out of the f—king kitchen.” Hustle & Soul airs Thursdays at 10pm on WEtv.
