The day after Trump’s first address to Congress, on MSNBC, Charlie Sykes said it was a good speech “it’s gonna help him” particularly with “jittery Republicans but give it a minute.” Sykes points out, “Nothing actually changed. There is no policy. He is the same Donald Trump he was 24 hours previously.” Sykes also says with the exception of The Washington Post journalist Robert Costa, “There’s almost a battered pundit syndrome going on out there where, you know, he comes home and he’s not abusive and he’s not drunk and so we’re just so incredibly grateful.” (video below) Real Time with Bill Maher airs Fridays at 10pm on HBO.
