Ellen DeGeneres likes her last name so much she lives up to it — she’s know in some circles as Ellen The Generous. The 2017 class of Summit Academy Charter School in Brooklyn will forever know the talk show sensation as exactly that: on her show this week DeGeneres told the senior class that they could all go to college for free. All four years at any New York State school. The kids graduate with no debt. How about that?

DeGeneres worked with Walmart to fund the project, which takes care of 41 students and could total $1.6 million. DeGeneres first started working with Summit Academy when she got Walmart to give the school a $25,000 donation. She sure knows how to raise the stakes.
