On the Star episode, ‘Next of Kin’, while Jahil (Benjamin Bratt) tries to raise money for a recording session, Carlotta (Queen Latifah) gets physically defensive when someone close to her is in jeopardy. Meanwhile, at a club, Star (Jude Demorest) meets Big Boi (who plays himself) and introduces the trio to the record producer.
Big Boi is known for being a member of Outkast with André 3000. He’s released two solo albums and an EP since then including Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, which features the song “Mama Told Me” featuring Kelly Rowland who knows something about all-girl trios. When Big Boi isn’t in the recording studio, he’s helping out with his dog breeding business, Pitfall Kennels. Star airs Wednesdays at 9pm on FOX.
