So actor Ewan McGregor (you really should see Big Fish) and talk show TV/radio personality Piers Morgan are having a fight. On Twitter. It’s dumb but people are interested because they’re famous. Basically, Piers Morgan didn’t think highly of the Women’s March protesting Trump and said so, despite growing up around “fiesty” women. McGregor, having four daughters, took offense and skipped going on Morgan’s show to promote his new movie. People loved McGregor’s stand, judging from Twitter likes.
Anyway, Morgan fired back a number of times saying things like mine’s bigger. (His followers, that is.) Classy stuff. He also mentioned that McGregor — feminist though he claims to be — has said he’s very “fond” of Roman Polanski, legendary movie director wanted in the US for sexual abuse of a minor. One UK writer named Emily Reynolds got the whole thing right — boos all around, she says, reminding everybody there really is a middle ground. Read Reynolds’ tweet below. Not just a writer but a “mental health activist”, Reynolds has a new book coming out, A Beginner’s Guide to Losing Your Mind. It’s obviously a very timely book.
I think it’s possible to think Piers Morgan is a huge bigoted turd man & also think Ewan McGregor is bad for working with Roman Polanski bye
