The Lifetime TV movie Mommy, I Didn’t Do It is a sequel to the 2013 movie The Wrong Woman about Ellen Plainview (Danica McKellar), a young wife/mother/dental hygenist who was falsely accused of a violent crime. Since Ellen was eventually found not guilty, she became a lawyer which will come in handy when her 17-year-old daughter Julie is charged with murdering her teacher Mr. Dutton (with whom Julie allegedly had an affair). All the evidence points to Julie but Ellen is determined to believe and prove her daughter is innocent. Although it won’t be easy with Detective Hamer (Jaleel White) on the case.
