Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan and President-elect Donald Trump haven’t always seen eye-to-eye. CBS News correspondent Scott Pelley recently sat down with Ryan after the election and reminded Ryan: “You said he was racist.” Ryan says with a shit-eating grin, “No, I didn’t. I said his comment was.” Pelley argues that he doesn’t see a great deal of difference between “those two definitions” but “he [Trump] definitely called you ineffective and disloyal.” Ryan says they’ve patched things up. “We’re fine. We’re not looking back, we’re looking forward.” Ryan adds, “We speak about every day.”

Ryan does admit, “I didn’t see this one coming,” meaning Trump’s election. “He knows that.” 60 Minutes, which also landed the first interview with Trump after the election, airs Sundays at 7pm on CBS.
