The Democrats rely on the “minority vote” and “female voters” — in other words the majority of the population — according to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly. The reason some on the left want to abolish the electoral college, O’Reilly says, is because its design keeps power in the hands of the “white establishment.”
“The left wants power taken away from the white establishment,” O’Reilly said on his show on Tuesday, “and they want a profound change in the way America is run.” Phrases like “white establishment” aren’t often used in so public a forum, though it’s not a secret that President-elect Trump played to this idea in his campaign. O’Reilly returned to the less conflagratory term “white working class” in continuing his talk. O’Reilly said that Democrats believe “white working class voters must be marginalized and what better way to do that than center the voting power in the cities?” You can read O’Reilly’s statement in full here.
