In the How to Get Away with Murder episode ‘Is Someone Really Dead?’ while the team meets with a veteran who’s charged with assault, Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) is desperate to get in touch with Connor (Jack Falahee). When he calls Connor, he’s surprised to hear a woman’s voice on the line. It’s Michaela’s (Aja Naomi King) adoptive mother Trishelle Pratt who found Connor’s phone in the cushions of Michaela’s sofa.
Trishelle is portrayed by Brett Butler. The former stand-up comedian is known for her roles on Anger Management with Charlie Sheen (Brett), The Young and the Restless (Beth Hortense), and her 1990s sitcom Grace Under Fire (Grace Kelly). At the end of Grace Under Fire, in 1993, Butler went to a rehabilitation center for painkiller addiction. Butler has written about her addictions, abusive first marriage, and subsequent financial troubles in the memoir Knee Deep in Paradise. How to Get Away with Murder airs Thursdays at 10pm on ABC.
