California congressman Darrell Issa has been a strenuous foe of the Obama administration since the beginning. But because Donald Trump’s candidacy is threatening many incumbent Republicans, Issa has allegedly included a picture of himself next to Obama in his latest mailer, boasting that he has been effective working with the White House. Speaking at a Democratic fundraiser in La Jolla, CA, Obama called the move the “definition of chutzpah,” saying, “here’s a guy who called my administration the most corrupt in history.”
Obama painted Issa and his fellow Republicans in the House as part of the problem that caused Trump to win the GOP nomination. Issa has represented the 49th Congressional District since 2001. Polls indicate Trump is way behind Clinton in California.
