Donald Trump got a gift from the FBI and the mainstream media this weekend, as FBI Director James Comey said with maddening ambiguity that there might be some new evidence relevant to the currently closed Hillary Clinton email investigation. The media exploded with the news, and it became the top story of the weekend.
Wow, Twitter, Google and Facebook are burying the FBI criminal investigation of Clinton. Very dishonest media!

Yet Trump tweeted to his faithful that the media — especially social media was “burying” the story. Trump’s tweet was one of the more egregious examples of post-truth politics in an era poisoned by the practice. Anyone on Twitter, Google, or Facebook could tell you it was impossible not to see this FBI story — James Comey actually trended #1 on Facebook. Even Hillary Clinton’s account was tweeting about it, rather than hiding it. But Trump’s accusation, like his accusations that the election is rigged, hit home with his base. As of this morning it has been retweeted 32K times and marked with a heart 64K times.
