Former teen pop star Debbie Gibson sits down with Oprah Winfrey for an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? “Starting so young in the business, came with many challenges,” Gibson explains. “And how I dealt with those challenges might surprise a lot of people.” She says she was inspired into “coming clean” after learning that Prince’s death was prescription drug related. “I can relate,” she says. “And unfortunately 90 percent of the entertainment community can relate.”

Gibson says when she was touring with a theater production, her cocktail of choice was Tylenol PM and Xanax. She talks about how creative people work strange hours “and so you find yourself self-medicating, and it’s really unhealthy.” Oprah: Where Are They Now? airs Saturdays at 10pm on OWN.
