On the Bar Rescue episode ‘Listen Y’all it’s Sabatoge,’ Jon Taffer visits Schafer’s Bar & Grill in Sumner, Washington. The new owners, Nita Wyatt and her husband Ryan Burks, bought the place a year ago from Jeff Schafer who opened it in 2010. Schafer said the bar was making $1.2 to $1.8 million a year. Nonetheless, he sold the bar to Nita and Ryan and stayed on as manager. Mistake #1. Schafer didn’t like the changes being made and revenue declined. Schafer’s is now facing $500,000 in debt. That’s why they called in Taffer.
When Taffer arrives, he sends in two of his guys to test the bartenders. Bartender Lindsay doesn’t know how to make a gimlet or a Manhattan. She storms out of the bar crying and says she quits. While Nita is watching the whole ordeal in a car with Taffer, she breaks down in tears and says, “I can’t afford to lose her, I’m sorry.” When Nita fails to keep Lindsay from leaving, she storms back into the bar and yells at everyone: “You guys need to pay all your tabs and get the f—k out of my bar right now.” Bar Rescue airs Sundays at 10pm on SPIKE.
